Success is waking up in the morning, whoever you are, wherever you are, however old or young, and bounding out of bed because there’s something out there you love to do, that you believe in, that you’re good at – something that’s bigger than you are, and you can hardly wait to get at it again today. ~ Whit Hobbs
I think of my new spiritual mentor who is 88 years old, and enjoys life. He is computer literate, blogs and helps others. On Sunday we couldn’t do a session because he was going to watch the Super Bowl with friends. I find him inspiring, the way I hope to age if I reach his age. Having a purpose we love, keeps one vital and young.

Great post and LOVE that photo. Thanks, Marie.
Here’s to ZEST for living and ZEAL for life.
Thanks Nancy! I notice whenever I am in a creative mood I feel energized, but when I don’t, then I don’t have the extra bounce in my step.
What an inspiration your mentor must be…isn’t that remarkable to continue to have that sense of inspiration, purpose, motivation, warmth, interest and connection, even at 88 years old….wow…I’m so happy for you to have such a friendship. I hope that we all continue to access and live with those wonderful qualities through the years ahead!
I love sunflowers…that’s a wonderful photo of one….just “right there”….to me they represent happiness, joy, optimism, abundance, strength and fortitude…a combination I appreciate and try to embody, when I can…. and am so thankful when I can do that! : )
I added my mentor’s name in my gratitude jar.
He an inspiration to me! It’s good to have good role models as we all age so we get programmed to think of fruitful life until the end. I too love sunflowers and was happy to find this one in a Google search. I like what looks like butterflies surrounding the flower as it represents life to me.
I love to hear about people in that age bracket who are so full of life. Thanks for this Marie. You’ve been away FOREVER!!!!!!! I miss you! I’ve never met you in person, yet I know your beautiful soul.
Thank you Yaz for missing me.
I also feel a connection to your beautiful soul!

I am so enthralled with energetic elderly…whether they’re physically active or not is less important than if they are energized by life at large. How wonderful to hear of such a dear man. I do agree that enthusiasm for life is tied very directly to having interests and a reason to anticipate something new each day. You always have something–or someone–special to share with us!
Hi Debra, He is a kind, vibrant man, and I am blessed. I keep on focusing on the vibrant elderly so I have them as a role model when I get older.
