My nephew Andrew is an American teacher who relocated from New York to Thailand in 2004 where he met his wife KK. They renewed their vows in 2010 while flying in a Hot Air Balloon. Andrew has never lived his life the traditional way, has always been adventurous; a trait I admire in him.
My nephew’s friend Fantuzzi – the minister who conducted the ceremony is also a musician who travels around the world to play his music. He was in Newsweek Magazine’s cover for the Woodstock coverage in 1969.
Full Moon and Winter Solstice Wedding December 20, 2010

A moment of silence and prayer before flying …

Getting ready to fly …

Fantuzzi is singing…”We are opening up in sweet surrender to the luminous love light of the one… we are opening…” then in Spanish, “Earth my body and water my soul, the river is flowing.”
In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. – Rumi

Lovely photos, Marie! What a great way to celebrate!
Thanks Nancy. Your comments about flying in a Hot Air Balloon reminded me of Andrew’s wedding. Thanks for the reminder!
So glad that he shared his photos with you . . . so you could share them with us!
This is magical!!
Thank you! They were planning a traditional ceremony but decided on a more adventurous one. I miss your posts, Janet!
How magical and wonderful… an inspiration!
They both have magical memories to share with their new daughter when she grows up.
What a lovely way to renew vows. You have an interesting family, Marie. I love people who are willing to live life differently and fully. And I love the photos!
Thanks Yaz! I enjoy diversity within the family as one gets to experience the culture up close.
What a wonderful ceremony! I admire them, too, for linking their vows to such a happy and spectacular memory! The photos are just beautiful, and not to make a pun out of the event, very uplifting!
What a delight!
Debra, I imagine they will be sharing this day with their new daughter whe she grows up.
