The power of sound which affects our vibrations can be relaxing and healing. Tibetan Buddhists believe that repeating the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, will invoke the blessings of love and compassion as it opens the heart center. It is said that this mantra is still powerful in written form whether its carved, painted or written by hand.
I make time during my busy day to spend an hour or so, focusing on that which uplifts me. I found this Youtube video which I listen and watch, as it helps me to reconnect to the sacred in life. I have always found water to be soothing and healing.
Enjoy!
Peace,
very beautiful and relaxing, thanks for sharing Sufilight, am listening to this after having a long day at work.
Veeh, Glad you enjoyed it. š I hum the chant often during the day, guess it’s become a habit for me.
My heart chakra thanks you, sufilight!
Namaste. _/!\_
Nrhatch, My heart chakra welcomes you! I love the namaste drawing. š
Thank you, Sufilight. I’m going to save that u-tube video. I know that color, sound both have qualities of touch, emotion, I know one can actually see sound and hear color. Thanks for the YouTube video… thanks for you.
I have heard some people can see the colors of sound, met one such a person in a writer’s community I am a member of. Pretty awesome, I think. Reality is more than we think it is, so am not surprised that color and sound can have the qualities of touch and emotion. I am always open minded with what gives one the potential to expand. Thank you for your kind words.
Once experienced what I describe as “climbing up on the notes of music”. Very real, despite the fact that there’s no way to specifically describe it. Of course, the psychiatric community has it listed as a disorder, to be able to see sound and hear color, but it is very real. I beg to differ that it’s a disorder, however. š
My mate and I often wonder how many perfectly normal people who are enligthened or have had experiences that are actually psychic, are in mental institutions because many people do not understand these experiences. Times are changing, so it starting to hopefully become more acceptable. š
Do you know this mantra? It’s beautiful Jennifer Berezan sings it. It’s also on her cd Praise to the World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS4uIr2s6_I
And this song…goes with the mantra. Jennifer Berezan again She Carries Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHQ8EzG7JA8
Thank YOU for the link! š I am about to listen to it….
I think I made a mistake on that link… She Carries Me
Oh no…now the link embedded…I meant to just add a link. I didn’t know that the video could even be embedded! Tech stuff! š
LOL. Tech stuff is always around and make us roll our eyes from time to time. š Just listened to the Mantra, will do a search and find it out more about it. Very nice.
“Green Tara” is the Bodhisattva of Compassionate Action and “White Tara” is of healing and long life. That song lead to me meeting Jampa 3 years ago…so a good time right now, too, for compassionate action and healing…
And it’s quite interesting that that song embedded in that comment, rather than just the url…that song has been a part of some very significant changes, so maybe that’s a bit of it…I was really taken aback to see the actual video right there. I’ve also been trying to decide whether to go to Jennifer’s autumn weekly Women’s Singing Circle in Berkeley, starting next week…wonderful singing, chants etc…really beautiful evenings…so that embedding might be a hint too.
Kathy, Thanks for the sharing! Being part of a group that sings and chants sounds like a good thing to do; I can imagine the high, positive energy that one walks away with.
Marie, I just found a youtube of a beautiful song/mantra that we sing in the singing circle that I go to….it’s so beautiful. I’ve never know the words, only sung approximations to myself and then singing with the 20 women in the circle. I thought you might like it. (I think this is just the link, but it might be the whole youtube, if it’s like the other link)
