I have touched on the subject of perception and the mind, but I enjoy more reminders of the power of our mind as it is not only a spiritual idea but also a psychological one.  It balances out the fear and drama we hear from the world and which can affect how we view life. I do not watch the news, but “news” have a away of sneaking in through the internet or well meaning friends wanting to keep me “informed.”

Allow me to share a few quotes with images that I think are beautiful to look at:

As above, so below. As within, so without.” – The Emerald Tablet, circa 3000 B.C.

Creation is always happening. Every time an individual has a thought, or a prolonged, chronic way of thinking, they’re in the creation process. Something is going to manifest out of those thoughts – Michael Beckwith

Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream. – Lao Tzu

Every great tradition has told you that you were created in the image and the likeness of the creative source. That means that you have God potential and power to create your world. – James Ray

You are the masterpiece of your own life; you are the Michelangelo of your experience. The David that you are sculpting is you. And you do it with your thoughts. — Dr Joe Vitale

Whether we believe or disbelieve that our thoughts create our reality, or that what we hold within is reflected in the world we experience,  one thing is undeniable: having a positive attitude creates a more pleasant life experience. After all, life is perception, what we hold in mind becomes the movie we project for ourselves.  The following poster sums it up nicely.

As for me,  I continue to unplug the signals, and say goodbye to movies I don’t like.  And a part of me, says “it’s about time and thank you!”

“You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.” – Deepak Chopra

A few of you are aware I experienced a challenge last month with the sudden loss of hearing which I shared in my blog entry:  The Twilight Zone World of Silence. I have news to share with all.  Didn’t think I would be giving this update, so soon!

Last night while I was in my office with the door closed after having emailed with Janet from Thoughts to Mull,  I was listening to the sounds my s/o Phil was making outside my office and was getting ready to tease him. It did not dawn on me I was hearing until he walked in.  I got all the hearing I lost back! I even hear a little better than what I could hear in the 1990’s (I am taking hearing tests). I am still hearing challenged but not deaf.  I had tears while I was waiting today for the bus and could hear the children’s laughter; such sweet sounds that we all take for granted.

This experience has made very aware of the importance of not carrying any stress within. I am talking about the internal stress we may carry around such as fears, concerns about the past or future  or getting tense when things do not move quickly enough; wanting things to move quickly is one of my weaknesses.

I was introduced by a friend in the Philippines to the Healing Code by Dr. Alexander Lloyd, which is energy healing that releases stress to the cellular level. When we release stress from the body, the body then can heal. They have thousands upon thousands of testimonials with clinical validation of healing taking place from users all over the world.  I have been practicing the Healing Codes everyday for the past few weeks and will continue to do this as I want to continue improving my hearing.  You can check their website for more information healingcodes.com.  Don’t be put off by the seeming commercial aspect to it as you can do the healing codes on your own without spending money.

I have experienced some internal shifts of a spiritual and emotional nature that I probably will share at some point, but not today as I just wanted to share the good news!

My deepest gratitude to all who sent me energy and prayers or blessed me with your presence here. I recieved your healing intentions/energy as we are all connected.  I won’t forget you; I have an elephant’s memory when kindness is extended to me.

Now off to tell my partner that he is making a lot of noise outside in the garden… just love it! 🙂

Post it Note: Janet (Thoughts to Mull) wrote a beautiful poem dedicated to me. The words are in perfect timing.  Silence, The Healing Balm

Unlearning Fear to Be Love

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”
Marianne Williamson

I am not yet at the stage where I love everyone all the time or see love in all things. I do perceive with the eyes of judgment from time to time.  If I were to see a mother terrorizing her toddler with blood curling screams, I would react with judgment and a desire to protect. I met such a situation years ago in New York and reacted with concern. Of course the mother snapped at me and told me to mind my business. Sadly, a few onlookers and I had to walk away as she was not beating up her child and had stopped the screaming.

Yet,  I am aware that partly what stands in the way of being love as a state of BEing are my thoughts, my self-identification where I think I am really this body, even if I have had a few spiritual experiences, the mental stories I created about life and still believe.  I am aware that it takes understanding and a willingness to shift from perceiving through the eyes of limitation (fear) to one of expansion (love).

I am fortunate I do not have issues with race, politics or religion. In that sense I  do see unity in all as we are from the same Source. My challenge is to let go of the idea the world is not a safe place and to continue to accept that the tapestry of life is perfect.  When something challenging happens in my personal space or in the world,  it’s meant to be.  I have known this for decades and seen the process of growth, yet when faced with a new challenge in my path, I realize once again there is more work to do in unlearning, and to accept that it’s not for my mortal mind to comprehend but for my heart to trust.

Spontaneous Life Changes

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu

I have found that the minute I let go of resistance – courage and clarity takes place. The choices that I need to make for the resolution of a challenge starts to become more apparent. Sometimes, the solution is to do nothing, but to allow for an internal emotional and spiritual shift to take place so life can be enjoyed.

Mind and Heart Agreeing

mind and heart agreeing, Paulo Coelho quotes

“Why do we have to listen to our hearts?" "Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you'll find your treasure." Paulo Coelho

Many years ago, when I was in the corporate world, and was angst ridden, deeply confused as to my life’s purpose, before falling sleep, I kept asking over and over, what I should do regarding my life’s path; should I stay in the corporate world, or should I quit? And fell asleep crying and whining, (remember, I was very young then).

The next morning, I woke up with the sensation of a presence standing near me, touching me even, which scared me, and heard the presence say,

“Do what you love, if your mind and heart agrees you will find happiness”.

It was disappointing, I wanted practical instructions, such as “leave your job and go to such and such a place,” I wanted an address! It took me a few years to realize this was sage advice when I chanced the phrase in a book by Gary Zukav, “The Seat of The Soul.” Hard to believe after all my reading, I had not heard at the time of this phrase. It’s interesting to observe, how we evolve in consciousness as the years go by, if we are open to this.

And this guides me to this day. When I am in doubt about doing something, I generally listen to my heart, and if my heart is at peace with what my mind wants, I know I am in the flow of inspiration from the Divine. It does not mean the decisions will always be easy or that sometimes I don’t lose my way, but there is that certainty that can only come if we are still.

We are all meant to be in the flow, as Nature who is a great teacher often shows us.  And for this spiritual compass that we all have access to, I am deeply grateful.
