“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these” ~ George Washington Carver
Every day I become more aware that love is the essence of all of life, and it’s not only an emotion but (quoting Dr. David Hawkins) “a state of awareness, a way of being in the world, a way of seeing oneself and others.”
Yes, Marie, we ARE love, but are still remembering that fact.
We need to awaken so we can remember.
That is the perfect pic to illustrate this post. Thanks for a wonderful and warm reminder, Marie.
Glad you enjoyed this post and photo, Nancy.
Marie, such lovely quotes and photo…
It is touching. I think it’s real, taken at a village.
I love the Carver quote! Thank you, Marie.
Glad you also enjoyed the quote, Debra.
Thanks for this. Someone else suggested Hawkins. I was looking for the spelling. 🙂
Thanks. 🙂 It’s Dr. David R. Hawkins, there is another Dr.David Hawkins that shows up in the search engines who is not a spiritual teacher. I have a section in this blog with Dr. Hawkins quotes and a little bio about him. He healed himself of over 22 dis-eases, even restored his vision to 20/20.
Thanks!
Ohhh, Marie… I just read a post…please send some healing the way toward this tender, hurting blogger …. http://jennadee222.wordpress.com/2013/09/23/peace-be-with-me/
She is broken, so sad. I posted a reply to her.
Dear Marie,
Forgive my lateness in responding please. The image and quote are a perfect pairing. I remind myself everyday that we are love and learning how master self-love leads to an expression of universal love that can change the world.
Thank your insightful comments. Self-love is important for our mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
I have been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to catch up with all my WP friends. I will catch up soon. Hope you are doing well. 🙂
Very nice Marie,
I have found that happiness is only available in this present moment and always is plentiful when I give to others freely without regard for reward.
Giving to others, sometimes just a smile, a friendly greeting or maybe five minutes of intent listening to a stranger hurting at the store.
I also find happiness in giving, makes my heart expand. 🙂
How is the healing going, mindfulness getting any deeper, Marie?
Your posts are very positive and insightful
I have days when I more mindful and others when I am not. The healing is moving along, also with good days and the slower ones. Thanks for asking! I just received Rick Hanson’s latest book “Hardwiring Happiness.” Looking forward to reading it.
Love is, so very is, the essence of all life. Very mindful, beautiful piece.
Yes, love is indeed the essence of life. Thank you for reading and commenting. 🙂
That was lovely – thank you!
Thank you for reading! 🙂
Always such a powerful message behind your words and I’m glad you have returned. I missed you xoxoxo
Thank you! I admit I don’t post as I used to in WP but do try to come back to post and catch up with the posts of those I follow. 🙂
I understand and I love it you stay in touch. I enjoy your thoughts and writings, always.
Thank you! I also enjoy your posts and your kind energy.
