“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these” ~ George Washington Carver

Every day I become more aware that love is the essence of all of life, and it’s not only an emotion but (quoting Dr. David Hawkins) “a state of awareness, a way of being in the world, a way of seeing oneself and others.”

Don’t give up! It’s not over. The universe is balanced. Every set-back bears with it the seeds of a come-back. – Steve Maraboli

I have found that a setback can be an opportunity for new beginnings in how we relate to life, to go deeper within, to let go of what no longer works. Life is sacred and precious, and we are here to realize the wonder of our souls and to be love.

Happiness Comes from Within

Beautiful!

Happiness that comes from within is permanent, as it’s not dependent on experiences and objects that come and go. I have experienced sweet peace or moments of deep gratitude even in the midst of dealing with the challenge of my hearing fluctuating, giving me moments when I have the blessing of hearing and others when the world is a whisper.

This confirms that the Source/Spirit within all of us is always in a place of love and stillness, and we just need to tap into it

The Lens of Perception

"Love and fear represent two different lenses through which to view the world. Which I choose to use will determine what I think I see." Marianne Williamson

After my experience with the sudden hearing loss early this month, I was in the bathroom after my shower, and had a sudden thought pop into my mind that said:

“change the lens of how you perceive life.”

And it was so crystal clear to me, that I did just that! I saw positive potentials instead of fearsome scenarios that being caught in a world of deafness could give me. I had a great day of feeling inner balance just because of this thought and shift of perception.

What’s odd is, I have never used the phrase “changing the lens” either in my writings or oral communication or came across this in my readings. I use other phrases such as “change my/your perception.”  On that week I kept coming across messages about changing the lens of life without my looking for them. The quote I shared at the beginning of this post is one of them.

Seeing the world from a place of fear or love does change everything. Living in fear is constricting; it constricts the heart, the mind, and the expression of our souls. It’s a lower energetic frequency that will not help in attracting wholesome experiences.  Living in love is expanding, opens our hearts, and allows for the fullness of our being to be expressed. It’s the highest state of being.

I for one, am working on choosing love as a state of being, but it takes inner work as I am human and have my vulnerabilities. From a practical level I am releasing my fears with the help of Dr. Ben Johnson who was in the movie “The Secret.”  He is an M.D. who healed himself of Lou Gehrig’s disease which is medically incurable by releasing fears from his body and choosing love. He had no choice as he was given just a few months to live.

From a spiritual level, I am in the awareness that only love is what matters in this planet and with our lives. I believe that everything that happens to us is for our highest good. Yes, even this disconcerting challenge of deafness which I struggle with at times, is a loving opportunity for me to transcend the illusions of how I perceive reality.

I am willing to continue with the task of changing the lens of how I perceive life. And permanently. I owe this love gift of freedom to myself.

Speaking Through Images of Children

I have a collection of quotes with photos of children that I wanted to share.

I love images combined with words, as they often have an impact on one’s mind and heart. If the information is not reaching the mind, it may reach the heart via images or the images can speak to the mind.

The following collection are one of my favorites as the images of children are pure, full of innocence, and does not conflict with the message (well, at least to my eyes).

Enjoy!

"Intellect alone is not enough to guide us," "To shape the future of the twenty-first century we need something else. Without peace and happiness we cannot take care of ourselves; we cannot take care of other species and we cannot take care of the world." Thich Nhat Hanh

“There are women’s fashion magazines that tell us that in
order to succeed, you have to look a certain way, and use a certain
product. Many young people in our society want to have cosmetic
surgery in order to meet that standard of beauty. They suffer very
much, because they cannot accept their bodies. When you do not
accept your body as it is, you are not your true home. Every child
is born in the garden of humanity as a flower. Your body is a kind
of flower, and flowers differ from one another. Breathing in, I see
myself as a flower. Breathing out, I feel fresh.”
~Thich Nhat Hanh

"I am a patient of Love, you are like medicine for me." Rumi

“They don’t live with hate why should anyone else have to ….”

Have you smiled today?

This one is adorable…. I once wanted to save the world. Join the Peace Corps, today I am content doing my best with  the resources I have…

And finally…..

“The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.”  Albert Einstein

I am exploring healing for self and for others. The healing need not always be physical: it can be spiritual, emotional and even with creativity and finances. To me healing means balancing the energy and clearing blocks that stand in the way of a harmonious flow and for Awareness/God/Source to lead the way.

The video I am sharing is a beautiful reminder of how we ALL are healers for one another, and how through our human challenges we can learn to open our hearts in compassion and love for self and all living beings.

May our paths be one of Love and Wholeness!

As the year is coming to an end, what better time to focus on peace and change for ourselves and the betterment of humanity.

I am sharing different music videos that can be listened on a lazy day and perhaps inspire you to create your own changes, or if not, then at least relax you.

Imagine- John Lennon

Peace I am aware cannot be accomplished overnight, the human condition pretty much show us this, and it used to be discouraging at times for me to see that basically mankind has continued with the conflicts that are centuries old.

Yes, I am a dreamer, and at times a doer.  Altough I am very human and have moments of inner struggle,  I try to contribute to the consciousness of our world by having peace in my heart and therefore in my home, and in turn I am generally very peaceful towards family, friends and strangers, but in order to experience this, I made personal changes by letting go of what no longer worked for me.

As Lao Tzu said, we need to start with ourselves. One person at a time, can create change.

“If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors, There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.”

— Lao Tzu (570-490 B.C.)

Tell Me Why-Declan Galbraith

I admit, I had never heard of this singer, who is English of Scottish-Irish origin; my lifemate shared it with me last year, and I was moved to tears! He was only 10 years old in this clip (he is now 20) and sings with passion, as he asks the questions mankind has often asked, why is there suffering, why is there need and what can we do to help.

Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror

Disregarding Michael Jackson’s eccentric ways, I find the late singer was a powerful performer, with yet another reminder that to make a change in the world we need to make a change within ourselves.

As Ghandi said: “Be the change, you wish to see in the world”

Words of true wisdom.

BOB DYLAN – Blowing in the Wind

This song has been described as a protest song, but the lyrics does not preach, or suggest a course of action; it lets the listener listen to the philosophical questions and come to his own answers, which are blowing in the wind – near you, your heart.

The same message of peace has been repeated worldwide for thousands of years, by spiritual leaders to philosophers (well most) and yet we still don’t get it, but one day I assume we will, if not in this generation then in another one.

May the New Year bring everyone love, joy, abundance and the “peace, that passes all understanding!”

“Forgiveness is not a moral issue.
It is an energy dynamic…
Forgiveness means that you do not carry the baggage of an experience.
When you choose not to forgive,
the experience that you do not forgive sticks with you.
When you choose not to forgive,
it is like agreeing to wear dark, gruesome sunglasses that distort everything,
and it is you who are forced every day
to look at life through those contaminated lenses
because you have chosen to keep them.”

Gary Zukav from “The Seat Of The Soul”

Life with Abundance and Depth

Butterfly Life Cycle by Laurie Williams - Caterpillar, chrysalis, adult butterfly all illustrated and placed on a photo of some grape leaves.

I have watched Oprah’s Life Class almost every evening in her cable channel OWN, and my admiration for her is growing each day. She is an example of a being who lives with depth every day of her life, how beautiful and blessed is that?

One does not need money to live with depth and doing what we love. I watched a program in OWN on entrepreneurs and visionaries who are wealthy, and the word of advice was to do what you love for the joy and not for the money. These individuals continued doing what they loved while struggling financially, even one entrepreneur was sleeping in a park bench or car (can’t remember which) and opportunities opened up for them in the end. The passion put into what we love to do is what often triggers doors opening when we least expect it. And age does not matter, we can learn and grow at every stage of our lives.

I realize however, everyone defines abundance differently. Though I am not adverse to the idea of being rich, (Universe: I am open!) I  prefer to have a life of depth where I dance the dance of love, truth, and creativity and add to the balance and  inspiration of those around me and extend it to different connections around the world. This to me is also abundance.  With the availability of the Internet it makes it a realistic intention, and I am pleased to say this has already taken place at various times in my life where I have been the giver and recipient of  guidance and inspiration.

I see many of you in Facebook, Spiritual Networks and now WordPress which I joined during the summer of this year, uplifting and bringing laughter with your sharing and writing, so thank you all for being in my reality, you know who you are. 🙂
