Knowledge is learning something every day. Wisdom is letting go of something every day. – Zen Proverb

It has been a while that I have posted in this blog. At first, I thought I purposely simplified my online time so I could focus on creating a website that sells inspirational fridge magnets, mouse pads and in the future, posters. Now that the project that took many months of my dedication is complete, I don’t have an excuse to not write.

I admitted to myself tonight that the real reason I have not written is because I have had shifts with my spiritual beliefs.

Or rather I have let GO of most of my beliefs because I realized they were stories. I still enjoy inspirational writing but cannot in good conscience write about what I used to believe.

At this point, all I am truly sure of is that I exist in this moment of now. I am also comfortable with the idea that there is an Intelligence that  none of us has seen moving through Life, that love is the answer to everything under the sun, and that perception creates our reality.

It’s not a bad place to be in, but it has simplified my writing and perspective.

Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday! 🙂

Veeh Cirra whose blog is The Way2 Full Conciousness  surprised me with a tag. Her blog is full of uplifting posts and wisdom. I love to be inspired and seek to be around kindred spirits. Thank you Veeh, for the tag!

Here are The Rules: ( I admit I didn’t follow rules to the fullest)

1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them!

These are the eleven people I enjoy.  There are others I also enjoy but didn’t have room to list them here. I have not tagged these bloggers but do want to acknowledge them and encourage you to check their blogs out!

  • Spirit Lights The Way
  • Pocket Perspectives
  • The Tale of My Heart
  • Thoughts to Mull
  • Breathe Lighter (Three Well Beings)
  • Creating Reciprocity
  • Mirth and Motivation
  • Jackie Paulson
  • Walter Smith (Digital Artist)
  • The Curvy Spine
  • Into The Heart

Here are the eleven questions that Veeh asked for the bloggers that she has tagged:

Drum roll please…..

  1. When was the last time you cried?

Probably today. I cry or sniffle at almost anything. A touching commercial can make my eyes misty, a happy or sad story also pulls at my heart strings which in turn produces little tears.

2. Who inspires you most?

Oprah. I love the way she has used her challenging childhood to become a force of good in this universe. She shares her wealth and inspires millions to think out of the box when it comes to spirituality and life in general.

3. What is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?

Being a New York City girl who was used to seeing tall buildings everywhere, I would say pink skies. When I first moved to Oregon 7 years ago, I was mesmerized in seeing the pink skies outside our window at dusk.

4. If you won $1,000,000 in a lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

I would buy a second home near the East Coast as family and friends live there, invest and then help where there is the greatest need.

5. What are you best at remembering, names or faces?

OY, neither. I am best at remembering feelings associated with the person.

6. What is the first thing on your mind when you wake up in the morning?

Okay, this may sound corny, but, “it’s time to get up” and then I stretch like a cat and purr err… yaaaawn.

7. Favorite movie star?

I am not into movie stars these days, more into personalities who help out, but, right now, it would be Jane Seymour.

8. What book did you read last?

Oh, boy, I am always reading sometimes two or three books at a time. Let me think… (pretending to think)  can I say “Beyond Inspiration?” 😉  That’s my book, I just published it and it’s available in Amazon. Whoo hoo! It’s a compilation of spiritual musings, affirmative prayers and affirmations.

Here take a look at the cover: 🙂

9. How often do you lie per day?

Hardly ever, maybe once every few years, as in a compassionate white little lie, or when I don’t want to attend a social function and that’s the truth! 🙂

10. If you could, would you change the name written on your birth certificate?

No. My name is actually Dawn Marie but in Spanish. I would translate my name into English.

11. What makes you happy?

Genuine friendship with loved ones and friends where there is love and acceptance of our uniqueness. I have been fortunate to meet such people.

This is a spiritual excerpt Come Empty  from “Beyond Inspiration”, that pretty much expresses how I feel:

Thanks everyone for the warmth of our connection in the blogosphere!

Deleting a Post in Error and a Rant My Way

I was almost done with a WordPress post for today’s entry, had reached the end, spelled checked it and in the process of adding one more sentence, I deleted the entire post!  I type very fast and this has happened before:  I inadvertently touch the delete key and away it goes forever. Gone are my thoughts back into the world of energy. Aarghh.

“Must save, save when typing” –  my new mantra.

A lesson on non-attachment for me? Guess it is, but, venting sure feels good! As Nrhatch (Nancy) (whose blogs I recommend),  would say:  Aaah… that’s better! 🙂

Ending Procrastination to Publish First Book

I am on a mission to finish my book on affirmative prayers and spiritual musings. Such a simple book, but it takes work to create the finished product. It’s my baby, and though nothing is ever perfect, it has to be polished and well dressed before I go ahead and let it walk out into the world.

I figure, if I start with my first published book, I will continue writing books because I will see the reality of my goal turn into a tangible creation. I already have a second one in the works which is a children’s story I wrote about 15 years ago. It feels good to finally end the procrastination of decades. I notice that when we stop procrastinating, things seem to flow better as there isn’t that tension or negative self talk from unfilled goals.

There is a blogger who offers great tips for would be authors. I highly recommend her, just reading her entries puts one in a creative space and helps with writer’s block.

If my subscribers do not see me writing as much or reading your blogs, please know I am still around, so please don’t think I forgot you or leave me! But, knowing myself, I probably will post as soon as tomorrow, 🙂 but yet there are no guarantees, as I don’t want to turn posting in my blog as an excuse to not focus on my book.

The Writer’s Help

I have seen many talented bloggers with good writing skills, so I hope that would-be authors will take the leap!

Today, I am off topic in order to share my thoughts on blogging.

I am not new in the world of blogging or internet writing, but I admit, I have opened a few blogs, write, don’t get much traffic, lose interest and move on to the next one. The only place where I have been a consistent writer is at Hubpages where I have been a member for over 3 years and have a nice following, healthy amount of comments in my hubs ( blogs are called hubs) and warm connections with other writers,  many who also connect on Facebook. We as writers support each other and this in turn encourages us to stay and write at our pace.

Most writers who open a blog or uses the internet as a medium to share their words and work is doing it for the thrill of connecting to the reader, to share a part of themselves with others; to promote their work. Like a performer we thrive on feedback, and are often inspired to continue to create and refine our craft.

I  am still learning my way around WordPress, and recently discovered the ‘tag surfer’ that leads me to blogs that are in alignment with my interests which is non religious spirituality and inspiration. I also venture into health, poetic and artistic blogs. The thought as a newbie and non- techquie occurred to me,  “too bad we don’t have  a “friends request” button in blogs as we do in social networks.  The amount of followers and fellowship would increase very quickly.”  I assume this is the idea of “tag surfer” and following a blogger is helpful but does not guarantee a connection between the writers.  However, I have found it enjoyable to read the blogs of the members here via ‘tag surfer’.

I truly believe there is strength in numbers as I have seen how when writers connect, we attract more readership.  Connecting to like-minded or kindred spirits makes blogging fun, so I am going to stick around and look forward in meeting bloggers!
