For most people to be happy, there has to be a person, place, or thing involved in their happiness. In true happiness, there are no things involved. It’s a natural state. You will abide in that state forever. – Robert Adams

When happiness is conditional, we lose it once the source of our happiness is removed. I admit I am too human to not place happiness on conditions, such as having a very healthy and loving relationship with my mate. I have however,  tasted happiness and peace for no reason in moments of tremendous challenges, such as when I lost most of my hearing in April of this year.

I am grateful that our true nature is a silent and peaceful one, but the misuse and conditioning of our minds blocks the light within. I am even more grateful that we have teachers such as Gandhi who suffered torture while imprisoned, and yet remained at peace (which allows for happiness to be expressed)  and remind us as Robert Adams has – that happiness and peace is a state of being that we can abide in forever.

I hope to one day reach this state of being as a way of life.

The following quotes and images are from my Facebook page “Love Is The Answer.” It’s awesome to have a community from all over the world that is interested in spirituality and inspirational messages.  It’s even more awesome that it reached 17,628 users in one week even if it was a drop from last week.  I am not complaining.  Wish I had this traffic in WordPress or my business website!  Since I think in terms of ‘energy’ and the power of thoughts,  I am thinking that a worldwide focus on what is inspirational is serving the individual and collective consciousness.  Makes my efforts worthwhile.

Enjoy!

Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. – Eckhart Tolle

Why did anxiety, stress, or negativity arise? Because you turned away from the present moment. And why did you do that? You thought something else was more important. You forgot your main purpose. One small error, one misperception, creates a world of suffering. – Eckhart Tolle

True communication is communion – the realization of oneness, which is love. – Eckhart Tolle

You don’t need to condemn. Just observe, That is sin. That is insanity. That is unconsciousness. Above all, don’t forget to observe your own mind. Seek out the root of the insanity there. – Eckhart Tolle

Unlearning Fear to Be Love

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”
Marianne Williamson

I am not yet at the stage where I love everyone all the time or see love in all things. I do perceive with the eyes of judgment from time to time.  If I were to see a mother terrorizing her toddler with blood curling screams, I would react with judgment and a desire to protect. I met such a situation years ago in New York and reacted with concern. Of course the mother snapped at me and told me to mind my business. Sadly, a few onlookers and I had to walk away as she was not beating up her child and had stopped the screaming.

Yet,  I am aware that partly what stands in the way of being love as a state of BEing are my thoughts, my self-identification where I think I am really this body, even if I have had a few spiritual experiences, the mental stories I created about life and still believe.  I am aware that it takes understanding and a willingness to shift from perceiving through the eyes of limitation (fear) to one of expansion (love).

I am fortunate I do not have issues with race, politics or religion. In that sense I  do see unity in all as we are from the same Source. My challenge is to let go of the idea the world is not a safe place and to continue to accept that the tapestry of life is perfect.  When something challenging happens in my personal space or in the world,  it’s meant to be.  I have known this for decades and seen the process of growth, yet when faced with a new challenge in my path, I realize once again there is more work to do in unlearning, and to accept that it’s not for my mortal mind to comprehend but for my heart to trust.

Happy Earth Day! May we continue to honor the planet and all of life. I believe that when we join in intention be it through prayer, thoughts or meditation, we contribute energetically and spiritually to the world. Action of course also contributes. May love and peace prevail in our little planet!

Affirmative Prayer:

For the World

Where there is hatred, let there be love.

Where there is hunger, let there be nourishment.

Where there is suffering, let there be relief.

Where wars are being fought, let there be peace.

Where there is prejudice, let there be unity.

Where sickness is, let there be healing.

Where there is ignorance, let there be understanding.

Where there is religious or spiritual intolerance,

let there be acceptance.

May love, peace, and wholeness prevail on Earth!

And so it is! Amen.

Veeh Cirra whose blog is The Way2 Full Conciousness  surprised me with a tag. Her blog is full of uplifting posts and wisdom. I love to be inspired and seek to be around kindred spirits. Thank you Veeh, for the tag!

Here are The Rules: ( I admit I didn’t follow rules to the fullest)

1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them!

These are the eleven people I enjoy.  There are others I also enjoy but didn’t have room to list them here. I have not tagged these bloggers but do want to acknowledge them and encourage you to check their blogs out!

  • Spirit Lights The Way
  • Pocket Perspectives
  • The Tale of My Heart
  • Thoughts to Mull
  • Breathe Lighter (Three Well Beings)
  • Creating Reciprocity
  • Mirth and Motivation
  • Jackie Paulson
  • Walter Smith (Digital Artist)
  • The Curvy Spine
  • Into The Heart

Here are the eleven questions that Veeh asked for the bloggers that she has tagged:

Drum roll please…..

  1. When was the last time you cried?

Probably today. I cry or sniffle at almost anything. A touching commercial can make my eyes misty, a happy or sad story also pulls at my heart strings which in turn produces little tears.

2. Who inspires you most?

Oprah. I love the way she has used her challenging childhood to become a force of good in this universe. She shares her wealth and inspires millions to think out of the box when it comes to spirituality and life in general.

3. What is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?

Being a New York City girl who was used to seeing tall buildings everywhere, I would say pink skies. When I first moved to Oregon 7 years ago, I was mesmerized in seeing the pink skies outside our window at dusk.

4. If you won $1,000,000 in a lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

I would buy a second home near the East Coast as family and friends live there, invest and then help where there is the greatest need.

5. What are you best at remembering, names or faces?

OY, neither. I am best at remembering feelings associated with the person.

6. What is the first thing on your mind when you wake up in the morning?

Okay, this may sound corny, but, “it’s time to get up” and then I stretch like a cat and purr err… yaaaawn.

7. Favorite movie star?

I am not into movie stars these days, more into personalities who help out, but, right now, it would be Jane Seymour.

8. What book did you read last?

Oh, boy, I am always reading sometimes two or three books at a time. Let me think… (pretending to think)  can I say “Beyond Inspiration?” 😉  That’s my book, I just published it and it’s available in Amazon. Whoo hoo! It’s a compilation of spiritual musings, affirmative prayers and affirmations.

Here take a look at the cover: 🙂

9. How often do you lie per day?

Hardly ever, maybe once every few years, as in a compassionate white little lie, or when I don’t want to attend a social function and that’s the truth! 🙂

10. If you could, would you change the name written on your birth certificate?

No. My name is actually Dawn Marie but in Spanish. I would translate my name into English.

11. What makes you happy?

Genuine friendship with loved ones and friends where there is love and acceptance of our uniqueness. I have been fortunate to meet such people.

This is a spiritual excerpt Come Empty  from “Beyond Inspiration”, that pretty much expresses how I feel:

Thanks everyone for the warmth of our connection in the blogosphere!

John Lennon, Bob Dylan and more: A Message for the New Year

As the year is coming to an end, what better time to focus on peace and change for ourselves and the betterment of humanity.

I am sharing different music videos that can be listened on a lazy day and perhaps inspire you to create your own changes, or if not, then at least relax you.

Imagine- John Lennon

Peace I am aware cannot be accomplished overnight, the human condition pretty much show us this, and it used to be discouraging at times for me to see that basically mankind has continued with the conflicts that are centuries old.

Yes, I am a dreamer, and at times a doer.  Altough I am very human and have moments of inner struggle,  I try to contribute to the consciousness of our world by having peace in my heart and therefore in my home, and in turn I am generally very peaceful towards family, friends and strangers, but in order to experience this, I made personal changes by letting go of what no longer worked for me.

As Lao Tzu said, we need to start with ourselves. One person at a time, can create change.

“If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors, There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.”

— Lao Tzu (570-490 B.C.)

Tell Me Why-Declan Galbraith

I admit, I had never heard of this singer, who is English of Scottish-Irish origin; my lifemate shared it with me last year, and I was moved to tears! He was only 10 years old in this clip (he is now 20) and sings with passion, as he asks the questions mankind has often asked, why is there suffering, why is there need and what can we do to help.

Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror

Disregarding Michael Jackson’s eccentric ways, I find the late singer was a powerful performer, with yet another reminder that to make a change in the world we need to make a change within ourselves.

As Ghandi said: “Be the change, you wish to see in the world”

Words of true wisdom.

BOB DYLAN – Blowing in the Wind

This song has been described as a protest song, but the lyrics does not preach, or suggest a course of action; it lets the listener listen to the philosophical questions and come to his own answers, which are blowing in the wind – near you, your heart.

The same message of peace has been repeated worldwide for thousands of years, by spiritual leaders to philosophers (well most) and yet we still don’t get it, but one day I assume we will, if not in this generation then in another one.

May the New Year bring everyone love, joy, abundance and the “peace, that passes all understanding!”

This open heart of mine

can feel the sorrow and joy of

those I love and even for the

stranger crossing my path.

But I have learned, that no

matter how open one’s heart

may be –

the mind’s filters and fears

have a way of stepping

carelessly

on the petals of the heart.

The human part of me, feels

a quiet sadness, perhaps a void,

a small death –

as I am reminded yet again,

nothing in the illusion of life

stays the same

or is what I thought it would be.

Yet, my soul feels the gentle ripples of

peace, a sense of gratitude and a wisdom,

that in the midst of the thorns

life sometimes gives,

there is beauty

there is love

there is joy

there is Spirit

and the opportunity to continue

to live life with a child-like wonder

and an eternally open,

yielding heart.

“Forgiveness is not a moral issue.
It is an energy dynamic…
Forgiveness means that you do not carry the baggage of an experience.
When you choose not to forgive,
the experience that you do not forgive sticks with you.
When you choose not to forgive,
it is like agreeing to wear dark, gruesome sunglasses that distort everything,
and it is you who are forced every day
to look at life through those contaminated lenses
because you have chosen to keep them.”

Gary Zukav from “The Seat Of The Soul”

I am thankful  for another day of physical life and the chance to grow and to be love

for self and  others….

and to celebrate life whether I am alone or in the company of loved ones or friends…

I am thankful for my loved ones, my friends, the strangers who crossed my path…

I am thankful for the sage ones and the homeless man
for they are my teachers in love…

I am thankful for my love of writing and that of others as we enrich one another through our diversity and the gift of the written word…

Happy Thanksgiving! We can always find something to be thankful for no matter what we are experiencing in the moment.

And we do not need a holiday to be thankful, every day is sacred.  Wishing my friends who celebrate Thanksgiving and those who do not, a day filled with love and gratitude.
