“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu
I have found that the minute I let go of resistance – courage and clarity takes place. The choices that I need to make for the resolution of a challenge starts to become more apparent. Sometimes, the solution is to do nothing, but to allow for an internal emotional and spiritual shift to take place so life can be enjoyed.
Exactly! The answer lies in first accepting the situation as it is, and then looking for a solution.
As long as we’re resisting em, we’re blocking our own development!!
Nice blog!
🙂
Yes! Many folks think surrender or acceptance of a situation is giving up but it’s not, it’s letting go of that internal mental struggle so we proceed with clarity. Nice meeting you! 🙂
Beautiful expressed . . . we are letting go of the internal mental struggle so we can deal with the reality with clarity. 😀
Yes, it sure makes a difference! Yet, it’s always a learning process… 🙂
Beautifully put – hard to do.
Thank you! Agree it’s hard to do. Life is a learning process.
What a wonderful thing for me to read first thing in my day, Marie! And your photo is just wonderful! Blessings on YOUR day! Debra
Debra, I was thrilled to find the photo for the quote practically right away. Sometimes it takes over an hour to find a photo that will enhance the energy of a message. Many blessings on your day too!
I wanted to tell you, Marie, that I have ordered your book and I’m so eager for it to arrive! I’ve purchased it for a gift , but I’m sure I’ll want a copy of my own! What a wonderful accomplishment! Debra
Debra, Oooh, wonderful! You made my day!!! Thank you so much for purchasing the book and for a gift. I appreciate your support. 🙂
You have no idea how many times I have re-read this line, “Sometimes, the solution is to do nothing”…this is so true…I need this in my life especially in this month…
I forget and sometimes try to do the work of the universe…well, it doesn’t work…thank you for your timely message my friend. Thank you!
Veeh, I am delighted this message was a timely one for you! 🙂 I find Creation speaks to us in varied ways, and all we need to do is keep still, listen and trust. After my hearing loss challenge of last month, I am listening and learning to go more with the flow and what is needed shows up for me to help me along my journey.
Marie….I don’t know how to do this…I do know how to put forth effort…I’ve done that a lot… but not how to sit back, stay open and wait…?…my sense is that this is how something will arise…not by working at it…..I sense it happens in people, but I don’t have experience..at least I’m not aware of having experience…with this…any suggestions? Shifting is ahead of me…and I really want to find a place to offer and use what I have to offer…but I don’t know where, what or how…I sense it can happen, but don’t know where…any ideas?..books? websites?….
Kathy, Sometimes when I find myself in turmoil as to what action to take, or when I see something is not moving in the direction I want, I simply stop, focus on something else and wait until I am centered again. I find that the number priority especially NOW after my hearing loss is to be in harmony between my mind and spirit, because out of this then the ‘doing’ becomes more in the flow, without so much effort. Things do start showing up, ideas, connections, or perhaps we have a new energy or attitude. When it comes to life’s more serious challenges, let’s say as when we lost my 18 year old nephew 7 years ago, there is nothing we could do to change that, so all we can eventually learn is to surrender and stay quiet within.
I assume you want to use your talents in uplifting others? That would be wonderful. There is an offline social network that allows one to either offer classes, or social meetups for any purpose, be it to teach, entertain, or conduct a business, and it’s free. It works by listing your goal and people start signing up for the event. http://www.meetup.com My sister did one in Florida for her art and had fun.
thank you Marie, for the ideas and insights…I’ll rest with those for awhile and let them develop a bit… thank you…kathy : )
oh my goodness Marie…do you know the blog Cauldrons and Cupcakes?…by Nicole. I just found it a few days ago…and I think it’s very special. Well I had responded to a post she had about a muse whispering in one’s ear and asked for ideas….like I did with you…and she created a post about it.. it’s really special and I think you might appreciate it too http://cauldronsandcupcakes.com/2012/05/05/attracting-inspiration-and-opening-to-abundance/#comment-3670
She did a guided meditation, linked in there, which is lovely too….mabye I a bit later I’ll type it up and share it with you too..I think you’ll like that too…and it will be every bit as special in the written form as listened to….the flow of her ideas will come through in writing…. : )

Kathy, how nice! I know the feeling of having a post made as you did this for me. 🙂 Can you give me the link to her blog? I am not familiar with Nicole’s blog.
I think the link is right there….oh, that’s so interesting..it didn’t cross my mind how that happened….ahhhhhh…..how things happen…. : )
Didn’t see the link from the browser I was using. Weird! Just read the blog and WOW, I found her guidance to be inspired. Have followed her blog! Thanks for the share, and yes, the love and kindness we give out does come back. 🙂 ♥
Wasn’t that so kind of her…and what a nice blog she has…
Oh, my goodness, I was reading from my AOL account and didn’t see the full message with the links. I now in Google Chrome and see it…. Will check her link right away.
I think we often mistake “doing something” for “taking physical action”. And we forget that “doing something” often means doing what appears to be doing nothing, because we don’t see physical action. But your statement, “Sometimes, the solution is to do nothing, but to allow for an internal emotional and spiritual shift to take place so life can be enjoyed” is key. Internal emotional and spiritual shifts ARE doing something. It’s kind of like resting in order to allow our bodies to heal: it can look like we’re doing nothing, when actually, our bodies are occupied with a huge amount of work and repair! And it’s more difficult than it appears to wait for those inner transformations to take form!!
Good post, Marie!
Janet, You expressed what I wanted to convey PERFECTLY. I am on a semi-retreat now, and I need this silence in order to heal. The only place I venture is in WP and my I Love Is The Answer page in FB because I consider these soothing connections soothing for me. No traveling for me this year or desire to socialize. I need to write, and to read the posts of kindred spirits and above all focus on my spiritual and emotional well being. When we do “nothing” plenty is going on as you expressed.
I’m finally catching up again on blog posts. Thanks for your patience! 🙂
You are so kind, you always make me smile! I also am catching up, wish I could comment on all blogs everyday but there are only so many hours in a day to many things. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
